Today, I focused on my remaining jobs and my senior asked me to join his exit meeting with the client. I asked my senior what does exit meeting means as I have heard this term many times from my seniors but I have no idea what it really is, I then being told that this exit meeting is a discussion between the person in charge, in the meeting we will present our audit findings and the points to the client and to see whether there are any disagreements from the client side, it is an important process as some client might challenge our audit points and argue that they should have this points to be included to the report as their control is strong or sufficient enough, hence we need to use our judgment to identify whether their argue is acceptable or considerable or not, if yes, we can change our points or remove it with the condition client able to further additional evidence for us to prove the control do in place within the company, if not we need to stand strong on our point of view and pursue client to accept our suggestion. This is a challenging task, hence we need to equip ourselves with a very strong understanding of the audit points that we raised.
Main things that have learned
-Know what is the objective of the exit meeting with the client
-Know if it is possible to do a further amendment to the reviewed report after taking
into consideration the evidence furthered by client
Comment/idea/opinion
For me, it is a challenging task to conduct this exit meeting, but it is important to have this meeting as if we direct finalized the report and send out the client, the person in charge might feel unacceptable as we did not go through with them before we finalized our audit findings.
