Today, my manager informed me that he had assigned me to five companies in Johor Bahru to handle the ITGC and CAATs. I immediately began arranging kick-off meetings with each of these companies. Additionally, I was asked to assist another senior with CAATs testing, specifically the JV test, Purchase three-way, and Sales three-way match test.
While reviewing the documents for the JV CAATs test, I noticed that they were in different file formats, such as txt, PDF, and SAP fields. To streamline the process, I decided to group them by file type, resulting in three separate JV CAATs reports for the JV test.
Furthermore, I realized that for JV transactions in SAP fields, the fields were labeled in SAP terms, such as VLEKN for document number. This means that for SAP general ledgers, I may need my senior's guidance to proceed with the JV test. For today, I am focusing on the JV test on the general ledgers that are in PDF and txt formats.
For the txt files, I have to copy the data and paste it into an Excel sheet before proceeding with the test. After pasting the data, I use the 'text to column' function to align it based on width.
Main things that have learnt:
To learn how to perform JV test for general ledgers that are given in txt files.
