Day 102 (17 Mar 2023)

Writer: Foo Yoong HouFoo Yoong Hou

Yesterday, I received the general ledgers from the client, but they were so extensive that I wasn't sure how to proceed. I asked my senior for guidance, and he advised me to install the PDF converter on our server, which we could use to convert the PDF files into Excel format. He reminded me to be careful during the alignment process and to ensure that everything was accurately aligned to prevent any rework.

For PDF files with a large number of pages, such as those with 3,000 pages, my senior advised me to split the document into smaller files of 1,000 pages each before converting them, as the tool could not handle such large files.

I began the process of converting the PDF files to Excel files following my senior's instructions. The process was time-consuming, with each file taking around 30 minutes to convert, so I spent the remainder of the day solely focused on converting the PDF files.

Main things that have learnt:

  • To learn how to convert the PDF general ledgers into Excel documents.
