When working in a audit firm, a question that we can not prevent would be the question on whether you want to pursue a professional paper or not.
I did have a plan, however, I am not sure which will be a good choice for me to pick up. There are several choices, ICAEW, MICPA, CPA Australia and ACCA. My observation is that there are already a lot of my colleagues are taking ACCA and my mentor, Thao have completed the ICAEW and one of my colleague have completed MICPA. I then consulted a person in charge from HR department, Miss Foo, she is the one that handling all these professional paper sponsorship matters, we met at 7th floor in where she showed me what are the papers they are sponsoring and she analysis to me what are the difference between each paper, she then suggested me to take ICAEW. After that, I think considerately, I decided to pick up CPA Australia, the reason is because it always be my dream to take this professional paper programs and people do say that the study mode of CPA Australia is more on self study, so I am planning I will be going this program and at the same time I will be preparing for the CISA paper. I have registered myself for the first paper of CPA Australia in the month of January and will be getting the first exam in the month of April, honestly, the contents are not easy and I need to spend more time in studying it so that I am able to pass the exam, it is just the first paper, can not imagine how much of effort and time I need to spend for the papers like taxation and financial reporting, but whatever it is, I have started to journey and I need to have the responsible to complete it!
